Here’s a brand new song from A Place To Bury Strangers. Their new album comes out on June 26, and it’s called Worship. You can download this song for free here: http://soundcloud.com/deadoceans/a-place-to-bury-strangers-you.

A cool shoegaze/noise pop band from Austin, Texas.

Here’s another website re-design that I just finished. This one is also for local musician Adam Klein and his independent record label Cowboy Angel Music. The label’s roster includes Adam, as well as other local acts Little Country Giants, The Granfalloons, Vespolina, Justin Evans, Timber, and Nutria.
This video makes me like this song even more.

I did a little bit of a re-design to the website for local Athens musician Adam Klein recently. When I originally designed his website, I used the artwork from his newest album at the time, Wounded Electric Youth. Since he was releasing a new album this month, we thought it would be a good idea to update it just a bit. So, I took a photo from his Facebook page, designed a new logo, and built the site around that.

Van Halen just released their first album with original lead singer David Lee Roth since 1984. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical, especially after hearing the first single, “Tattoo”. I’m glad I didn’t judge the whole album by that one song, though, because it’s really, really good. This is currently my favorite song from the album.
When we played one of the first shows at CBGB, Alan Vega from Suicide came over to me and Dee Dee and said, ‘This is great, this is what I’ve been waiting for.’ I told Dee Dee, ‘This guy’s nuts. If we could fool this guy, maybe we could fool a lot more people.’ When we got bigger, I kept saying to Dee Dee, ‘I can’t believe we’re fooling all these people.’
This quote is from On The Road With The Ramones. It’s so funny to me because apparently the Ramones had no idea just how good they were. Sure, they weren’t by any means virtuosos on their instruments, but that was what made them so unique. They proved that you didn’t necessarily have to be a musical prodigy to write a good song. Sometimes simple is better. It made anyone feel like they could go out and start a band. And a lot of people did after they heard the Ramones.

One of my favorite moments from Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy.
I recently came across this website that showcases the center labels from old vinyl LPs and 45s. In this age of digital music, it’s kind of sad to think that any kind of art associated with records or albums could become obsolete one day. Let’s hope that that never happens.
